Tsavo National Parks
Tsavo National Park is split into two sections: Tsavo East and Tsavo West, creating one of the largest wildlife reserves in Kenya, covering a vast area of 22,000 square kilometers.
Located in southeastern Kenya, the park is known for its diverse landscapes, ranging from sparse savannah to mountainous terrain, and its rich variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, zebras, and diverse bird species.

Tsavo East National Park
Tsavo East is the larger of the two, characterized by vast open plains, acacia woodlands, and the famous Yatta Plateau—the longest lava flow in the world.
It is home to the iconic red elephants, which get their reddish color from the park’s red volcanic soil. The park also features the Aruba Dam and the Galana River, which attract a variety of wildlife.
Tsavo West National Park
Tsavo West is known for its dramatic landscapes, including lush hills, volcanic craters, and the Mzima Springs, where clear water emerges from underground. The park also boasts the Sheldrick Falls and is famous for its population of big cats, black rhinos, and the rare sightings of leopards.
The park has several luxury lodges and tented camps, offering exclusive safari experiences.

Climate
Both parks have a hot and dry climate, with temperatures often rising above 30°C (86°F) during the day. Tsavo East is more arid, while Tsavo West experiences slightly cooler temperatures due to its more varied terrain. The rainy seasons are typically from March to May and November to December, with drier conditions from June to October and January to February.
