Taita Hills Conservancy

Located in southeastern Kenya, Taita Hills Conservancy is a private wildlife conservancy nestled between the Taita Hills and Chyulu Hills, offering a more exclusive safari experience.

The conservancy covers 28,000 acres of rolling savannah, woodlands, and riverine forests, providing a sanctuary for a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, and zebras, as well as a wide range of bird species. The conservancy is also a key conservation area for endangered species such as the Taita apalis, a rare bird found only in the region.

Climate

Taita Hills experiences a mild and moderate climate, with temperatures ranging from cool in the mornings and evenings to warm in the afternoons. The area has two distinct rainy seasons, with the long rains occurring from March to May and the short rains from October to December. The dry season is from June to September and January to February, making it the ideal time for game viewing.
