Serengeti National Park

Located in southern Kenya, near the Tanzania border, Amboseli National Park is famous for its breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak.

Serengeti National Park

Located in northern Tanzania, Serengeti National Park is one of the world’s most famous and iconic safari destinations. Known for its vast plains, endless horizons, and the Great Migration, Serengeti is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife.

With its diverse habitats, including savannas, woodlands, and riverine forests, Serengeti is teeming with lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and over 500 species of birds, making it a must-visit for any safari enthusiast.

Climate

Serengeti has a tropical savanna climate, with distinct wet and dry seasons. The long rains occur from March to May, while the short rains happen from November to December. The dry season lasts from June to October, and is the best time for wildlife viewing, as animals tend to gather around water sources, making sightings easier. The temperatures vary between 24°C to 28°C (75°F to 82°F), though nights can be cooler.

Best Time to Visit

June to October

– The dry season is the best time for game viewing, especially the Great Migration, when wildebeest and zebras cross the plains in search of food and water.

January to February

– Ideal for witnessing the calving season of wildebeest and other animals, offering amazing opportunities to see newborn animals and their interactions.

March to May

– Green season with lush landscapes, fewer tourists, and excellent birdwatching, though some areas may be harder to access due to rains.
