Located in central Kenya, near the foot of the Aberdare Mountains, Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a unique private wildlife conservancy known for its conservation efforts, especially in protecting endangered species.

It is home to the world’s last two northern white rhinos and boasts a wide range of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino), giraffes, zebras, and over 300 bird species.

Visitors can enjoy game drives, guided walks, and visits to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Endangered Species Boma.

Climate

Ol Pejeta enjoys a moderate climate due to its location at a high altitude. It has cool mornings and evenings, with warm days. The conservancy experiences two dry seasons (June–October and January–February) and two wet seasons (March–May and November–December), with occasional rainfall.

Best Time to Visit

June to October & January to February

– Ideal for wildlife viewing as animals gather around waterholes and the weather is drier.

March to May & November to December

– The green season offers lush landscapes and fewer tourists, along with great birdwatching opportunities.
