Located in northern Kenya, Loisaba Conservancy is a private wildlife conservancy nestled between the Mathews Range and the Laikipia Plateau, offering a unique safari experience.

Spanning over 56,000 acres, the conservancy is known for its diverse landscapes, including bushlands, savannah, and woodlands, and is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, and over 300 bird species.

Loisaba is also renowned for its conservation efforts and is involved in programs to protect endangered species like the African wild dog and the Grevy’s zebra.

Climate

Loisaba has a semi-arid climate, with warm to hot days and cool nights. The region receives sporadic rainfall between March and May and November and December, with the rest of the year being dry. The best wildlife sightings typically occur during the dry season when animals concentrate around water sources.

June to October

– Best for wildlife viewing as animals gather around waterholes and are more visible in the open.

January to February

– Ideal for birdwatching and seeing young wildlife after the rainy season.

March to May

– The green season offers lush landscapes and fewer crowds, although some roads may be impassable due to rain.
